Early April of 2012 saw NatMeet, the national gathering of Australia’s Mazda MX5 Clubs, head to Canberra. The tenth NatMeet to have been held, it ran from April 6th till April 10th. Here are some highlights as noted by some of the participants of the event:
The rolling plains around Texas
The small and remote towns around the Queensland – New South Wales border
Six beautifully manicured MX-5s having to travel over a road under repair but our bad luck mean we had to follow the water truck on the dirt / gravel road.
Hasty pressure clean in Tamworth to correct the situation caused above.
The scenic Hunter Valley
Beautiful late afternoon sunset /drive from Tamworth to Musswellbrook.
Excellent dinner in the Musswellbrook RSL
The amazing drive along the Bylong Valley Way – One of Australia’s Best
The historic towns and centuries old buildings
Jenolan Caves and the great drive down to it.
The drive along the top of the Great Dividing Ranges to Taralga and Goulburn
Passing through the state forests into Abercrombie Pass
Historic Goulburn – Australia’s oldest inland town.
